Chambered in .30-30 Winchester, this rifle features a 24-carat gold-plated receiver, trigger, buttplate, and fore-end cap. The receiver is adorned with an engraved MP monogram, decorative scrollwork, and a mounted police officer.
The Winchester Commemorative 1973 is a limited edition series with only 14,360 units produced. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) underwent three successive name changes: at its founding in 1873, in 1904, and again in 1920. The stock medallion features all three names. Originally, the RCMP's mission was to maintain order across the vast territories of Western Canada, where they used the Winchester Model 1876.
